WEB PORTFOLIO
Portfolios are an important aspect of being a photographer. A portfolio displays best recent works of a photographer. There are different types of portfolios. Digital portfolios are displayed on a computer. Web portfolios are displayed on the internet (usually in the form of a website or blog). Paper portfolios are a collection of photographs in printed form.
We will be making web portfolios using www.weebly.com
Your final portfolio will be a collection of 10-12 of your very BEST and most interesting images. Basically anything you took THIS YEAR inside or outside of class. Your portfolio should show a viewer what you have accomplished in past year.

Your portfolio should include the following:
- Home page (include your most striking image and your artist statement. You may also include a picture of you, if you wish.)
- Portfolio page (include 10-12 of your BEST photos from this class, that YOU have taken. Your images should ALL have a watermark on them. All images should be titled and displayed in a gallery, NOT a slideshow).
- Blog page (include ALL of your images from your NEW LEARNING segment - each week to include an identifying title & reflective writing (3-4 sentences) explaining your thought process, technical qualities, and why you created it.

(if you already have a website portfolio for another class, you may add a photography page to that site if you wish. It still needs to have the same components: an artist statement and portfolio gallery).

- What is your favorite tool? (Film, digital, type of camera)
- What kind of pictures do you like to take? (landscape, portrait, black & white etc.)
- Why do/did you take these?
- Is there a pattern or theme to your work?
- Is there a predominant color?
- Describe your Style and what you look for in subject matter.
- Who you are as a photographer (ex. Student at DRHS)
- Etc.

BUILDING YOUR PORTFOLIO
Create a Weebly Portfolio Site: 1. Go to www.Weebly.com a. If you already have an account, log in and “Add Site” b. If you do not have an account, fill in your name, email, password and create an account. |
2. Add site / Edit Site: Add site, if you already have a login but do not wish to add your photography work to that site. Edit site, if you are new to Weebly.
5. You will now be in the editor. At the top of the page select “Pages”
6. Make 2 pages titled: “Home” & “Portfolio” We will be adding a gallery to the “Portfolio” page that will include your photography work from this semester. On the “Home” page you should have your best photo as well as an artist statement about you as a photographer. You may also have a picture of you on the home page next to your artist statement. |
